When is a dietician useful during your pregnancy?

Most women do not need a dietitian during their pregnancy. But personal nutritional advice can be useful in a number of situations:

  • Gestational diabetes. If your glucose result is abnormal, you will receive dietary advice to keep your blood sugar stable.
  • Severe nausea or vomiting. A dietitian can help you get enough nutrients despite the complaints.
  • Too little or too much weight gain. Personal advice about what suits your situation.
  • Special dietary requirements. Vegetarian, vegan, allergies: a dietician helps you to continue eating a nutritious diet.
  • Energy deficiency or fatigue. Sometimes it is due to your diet, sometimes it is something else. Together we look at what is going on.

Our collaboration with Bravocado

Femme collaborates with Bravocado (070 221 1554, info@bravocado.nu), a dietitian practice in The Hague with experience in pregnancy guidance. When referred via Femme, you know that the advice is in line with your medical file and the process we are following together.

How does a referral work?

We will discuss your question or complaint during a regular check-up. If a dietitian is helpful, you will receive a referral. You make an appointment yourself and the dietician reports any findings back to Femme. This way, all care remains in one line.

Will it be reimbursed?

Dietetic care is often partially reimbursed by basic insurance (3 hours per calendar year). Often more with supplementary insurance. Check your policy for exact conditions.

Bravocado has contracts with all health insurers. As standard, a minimum of 3 hours of dietary advice is reimbursed per calendar year. Often more for specific indications (such as gestational diabetes).
