All standard scans are fully covered by Dutch basic insurance, with no excess.
10–12 weeks
Confirms the pregnancy, establishes your due date and checks for one or more babies.
12+3 to 14+3 weeks
Early screening scan for physical anomalies. Part of a national research study.
18–21 weeks
Detailed scan of your baby’s development. The best-known screening ultrasound.
On indication
To monitor growth or position later in pregnancy. Around 36 weeks for position.
*On indication or in consultation with the midwife.
